About

The Website:

The Dreamy Dollars personal finance website is focused on helping millennials and Gen-Zers make smarter and better financial decisions.

After all, personal finance isn’t widely taught in school.  Personal finance topics seem so complex for that very reason. Yet, finance is all around us.

You’re busy. Work, kids, friends, parents, cousins, significant others, social events, studying, traffic jams and early morning practice.

When do you actually have time to figure out your finances?

It all seems so confusing, so daunting.

Fear not, that is why this website was built. To help you build wealth at your own pace and on your own terms.

If you are looking to achieve financial independence, learn about your TFSA, find out why your savings rate is so important, or build wealth to enjoy in your sixties when you retire, then stick around and check out some articles.

Take hold of your personal finances, because the truth is nobody cares about your money as much as you do

Not the financial advisor at the bank.

Not your friend who invests in NFTs.

Definitely not the salesperson at Balenciaga.

Or your employer who is forcing you back into the office, against your wishes.

At the root of all this money talk, is the dream to be able to design and live your best life.

So let’s get to it!!

The Founder:

Founder Graphic

Who Am I? Not Snopp Dogg or Beenie Man. But, I couldn’t resist 90’s hip-hop and reggae references.

My name is Ryan. I started ETF index investing in 2009 after reading precisely one finance book. I didn’t even know there was a huge stock market crash during that time. Crazy, huh?

I learned a lot about personal finances through my own money experiences, family members and books.

I am not a data scientist, engineer, financial analyst or a crazy sucessful entrepreneur that makes oodles of money. I’m just a regular Canadian. I’m a lot like you.

I haven’t handled my finances perfectly, but then again, nobody does….not even the experts.

So don’t beat yourself up if you are in debt or not saving as much as you want to. Life is different for everyone.

I love talking about money and I find it odd that most Canadians find the whole personal finance topic taboo. We spill the tea when we discuss our colleagues, friends and celebrities, yet we don’t talk about finances….even with our loved ones!! It’s time to change that.

If you want to be part of the personal finance conversation, come on by. Pull up a digital chair, get comfy and start reading.
